My grandaughter Marissa is "21" years old today.. I really can't believe I have a 21 year old grandaughter, because it was just yesterday we were all sitting at Saint Josephs Hospital awaiting her arrival. Marissa was my first grandchild and Kent & I were so excited to hold this precious baby in our arms. She was so beautiful and such a joy to us. I have always been very close to Marissa and feel such a strong bond with her. I am so proud of the many accomplishments she has achieved in her life. A class leader in school with excellent grades, serving in peer groups, student council, editor of her year book, a young woman everyone looked up to and admired. She has traveled much with her work and school. She spent from August thru December 2008 in Kiev, Ukraine teaching English in a pre-school thru the International Language Program. She is a very talented young woman and I love her so much. Happy Birthday Rissa.. Hugs.
Got to eat at some great restaurants while I was there.
Attended several basketball games at the University of Idaho, both women's and men's. The last game I went to was between the U of I and Boise State..Packed stands, LOUD crowds and we WON.. Was so much fun.
Got to have Brunch on Sunday at a darling little bistro called Silos. wonderful quiche and bagel.
Read books to Judy's grandaughter R's pre-school class. I read the book "Cactus Hotel' all about the desert in the southwest. I taught them how to say saguaro and told them about the coyotes that are outside my bedroom each evening "howling away". This is a tradition when I go up to visit Judy. We always take a morning and read to the class. When we come in I even get greeted by name, since I have been there so many times.
Walden Books was closing their Moscow store and that was an invitation to stock up on book at a super discount.. We also spent a morning working on projects at Paper Pals Scrapbook store and I also took a Valentine Mini Book class that Judy was teaching there. I always have a great time in Idaho and love spending time with Judy... She will be coming down to visit me in "19" days for movies, shopping and lunch & dinners out.. She is anxious for warm weather..
