My favorite colors
Just returned from my weekly visit to the condo.. Love going each week because there is always an exciting change taking place. Today they are just finishing up painting the exterior. The color scheme is earth tones from sand to browns. I love the color pallet on mine. The interior is all textured and ready to paint. It was so fun to walk through the rooms today and actually feel like they were really rooms and picture where I was going to put my things. I am getting so excited to finally move in and start to decorate and make it mine.
I have been working on the samples for several of my up-coming classes and will post them on my "Say What" blog later today.
I got up early today and went to weigh in at Jenny Craig.. following Valerie and Kirstie in losing some much need weight. I was so excited I am down 6 pounds and have only been going for 2 weeks. My counselor was very pleased with my progress. They are so helpful and positive there. I really do need to be accountable to someone for me to lose the weight. Since I just cook for myself, the meals are perfect.
Have a great weekend and check out Say What later this weekend..

I have sheet-rock
Yesterday we were planning a Harper birthday party at Steve & Karen's home for the August and September birthdays.. which included Me, My son Steve (41), his daughter Alli (6), My granddaughters Morgan (18) and Karleigh (14), who are Kristan's daughters. We have a party every 6 to 8 weeks to celebrate the birthdays in the family. We have dinner and dessert and celebrate the time we can spend together. This was a very special weekend since my oldest granddaughter Marissa was home from her summer job in Washington D.C. before returning to BYU for the fall semester. So I got to have everyone in my family together.. Kristan was running late and asked me to pick up Marissa and Karleigh and bring them to the party. On our way to Steve's we stopped by my new condo.. it is really close to where they live. Wow what a surprise I received.. The entire interior of the condo is sheet rocked... YEAH.. here is picture of the girls standing on the back side of what will be my bar between the kitchen and the living area.

Been busy
Last week I told your about my granddaughter Morgan's surgery. She was re-admitted to the hospital Tuesday evening. Her sister Karleigh found her on the bathroom floor doubled over in pain. They took her to the emergency room and it was determined that she had a bowel obstruction. She couldn't walk without great pain... Well it is now Thursday evening and she is responding to treatment and doing very well. Hopes to be able to go home tomorrow.
I had my 2 advanced card classes at "The Mad Scrappers" yesterday. I love teaching those classes and had 9 in the morning and 15 in the evening.. I spent the time between classes at the hospital with Morgan, so Kristan could go home and take care of things and take a shower, before coming back to spend the night.
Today I got to the hospital about 1:30 to relieve Kristan and spend some time with Morgan. She is doing so much better. She is walking the halls every 2 hours and things are moving along as planned. I love her so much and hate to see her in pain.. Marissa her older sister gets home tomorrow from her summer job in Washington D.C. We are all so excited to see her. She hasn't been home since Feb.
This weekend is our family birthday party for August and Sept. So we will celebrate for me, my oldest son Steve, his daughter Alli, my granddaughter Morgan and her younger sister Karleigh. We have a great time at family parties and everyone really looks forward spending time together.
I will be busy working on the samples for my up-coming classes at both The Mad Scrappers and Scrap Happy Sisters. I have several fun classes planned in the next few months.

I remember Kent today

I am taking a minute to share Kent with you. It would be his birthday today and he would be 64. I have been thinking of him all day and getting a little misty and nostalgic. On my way home from the temple this morning I put on my favorite CD of Josh Grobin and drove and remembered and cried. I love the song on the CD titled "To Where You Are", it says exactly what I want to say to Kent....
"To Where You Are"
As my heart holds you
just one beat away,
I cherish all you gave me everyday
Cause you are mine
Forever love,
Watching me from up above
Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
a breath away's not far
To where you are
He is my eternal companion and I miss him every day. He was such a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. How he loved his children and our grandchildren. He would do anything for his family. He always said "if it will make you happy", when I asked him about anything. Above are some pictures to help us all remember the fun times we had with this great man.

My little piece of heaven in northern Idaho
These are pictures of my sister Judy's house and the view from her deck. We spend evenings outside on the deck and it is a little "chilly". I love to come up here in the summer and enjoy the foliage, the beautiful flowers, the wheat fields and the "cooler weather". I know that you will all be jelous when you see where I get to visit a couple times a year. In the winter I love it, because I get to see snow.

Up in Idhao
Good morning all,
Judy and I have been having a great time this week. On Monday evening we had card club at Paper Pals, (everyone makes a card and brings the ingredients for everyone to create that card), We had 7 people so we went home with 6 new cards. Really fun group and fun activity.
Yesterday we met Judy's friends Ellen and Tricia for lunch and then Ellen, Judy & I went scouting out fun little shops. Ellen loves the back roads up here so she took us to a farm that the lady sells fresh flowers and the has a cute shop where she creates beautiful wreaths and other goodies out of dried flowers. It was quaint and cute. We then went into Pullman, Washington to some of the cute shops there. Found a really pretty watch and a rooster for my wall in the condo. There are several shops full of beautiful things. They took me to see several grizzly bears at the Bear Research Institute at Washington State University. We then continued on our back road journey to a nursery filled with plants and a cute gift shop, where I got some vegetables that look SO REAL.. to put in a basket in my kitchen. We were then off back to Moscow and a stop at Starbucks.. We go there so often the girls even know my drink now and start to fix it upon our arrival "a green tea frappachino". Last night Judy, her husband Jim and I went out to dinner at the "Fireside Grill" and then to see "The Bourne Ultimatum". Fast moving, intense movie..Loved it. We have been to see 4 movies now..Hairspray, No Reservations, Rattioulle and last night. Movies are one of my favorite activities. Today we are just relaxing and then this evening we are having dinner catered in. Judy and Jim bought the dinner at an auction a while back. My nephew Jeff and his family are joining us.
I found a new series of Amish centered books up here and am anxious to start reading them. I loved the series by Beverly Lewis and this new author looks great also.
I really have been sleeping in every day, it is so much cooler and quiet and I sleep in until 7:30 or 8:00 every day..
Kristan called and her daughter Morgan had to have emergency appendectomy last night. She woke up yesterday in severe pain and Kris took her to the emergency room and they determined it was her appendix. It seems that if it is going to go wrong in her body it will. Talked to Kristan last night and she said the surgery went well, and Morgan was resting well.
All the news for today.

Cool northern Idaho
I am setting in my sister Judy's kitchen writing my new blog.. I changed because this site has so many neat things you can do with your blog. The weather here is so beautiful, in the 80's and at night in the low 50's. I get to sleep under a down comfort every night. We have been to see "Hairspray" & "No Reservations", and scrapbooking, going out to lunch. My brother in law has a Mustang convertible and we have gone on girls evening rides, Moscow is such a fun little town and I always have such a great time when I visit Judy.
