- Wow, I looked at my last post and it was 2 weeks ago.. Just some notes on what has been going on with me.
My grandson Zack celebrated his birthday on January 19th. He is such a terrific young man. Always has a hug for me and a great smile. He is involved in scouts and a wonderful student of the cello. He attends Arizona School for the Arts and is in the 5th grade.
Finally got to go to the movie Avatar and really liked it.. Saw it in 3-D so I was ducking and jumping at the things that came flying at me.. - On the 20th I held my monthly "All About Me" class and we worked on layouts about the 2009 holiday season and filled out a personal questionnaire called to the best of my recollection. Each month we will have a series of questions to fill out and then create a page with it.
- I have been busy working on my samples for my Feb. classes.
- Went to lunch with Connie at a new restaurant, Babbo's Italian Eatery. Wonderful service and a great original chicken chopped salad, my favorite. I will definitely make a return to this restaurant.
- Sat on my first Board of Review for our scout troop, for the boys getting advancements. The boys were all so great and it was a wonderful experience. Then I had to get the paperwork all filled out and head down to scout headquarters to pick up the 48 badges and advancements for the boys. Then sort them and create award envelopes with each boys name and the awards he will receive at the court of honor. Learning a little more each time I get a new assignment as the advancement chair of our scout committee.
- Worked this Thurs., Fri. & Sat. at the Southwest Craft, Sewing & Quilting Festival in downtown Phoenix at the fairgrounds. I worked with Kristan and Karen in the Memory Mixer booth. Memory Mixer is a digital software program that allows you to create wonderful things with your photos, like books, calendars, DVD's, pages for scrapbooks, cookbooks and really anything your imagination can think of. A wonderful way to preserve your heritage through photos. It was really fun and met so many people and saw many friends who attended. It was a great place for me since most of the women attending were my age or older. Wow quilting sure draws a huge crowd.. The event was held in 3 different buildings and had hundreds of vendors from all over the U.S. We had great sales and topped all the previous sales from the company at these events.
- On Friday my father-in-law passed away in Idaho. He had a wonderful life and was such a sweet man. Kristan I will be flying to Idaho on Friday to be with the family.
- Tonight is my first Court Of Honor as a member of the scout committee.. Get to see all the boys presented with their advancements and awards.
