Rainy Days & Sundays

We have had more rain here in the desert southwest in the last "2" months than we had the entire year of 2009. Our desert floor that is usually just dirt is now solid green. It seems we have rain every weekend and one or two days during the week. We are losing our dry desert status.

Today while I was driving to church in Cave Creek, the rain was coming down so hard, it was really hard to see. The wipers were going fast and the traffic was heavy and the dips in the road had large amounts of standing water so when I passed another car driving through a dip my car was washed out with a huge wave of water.

On the way home from church the road I usually drive on was closed due to flooding. So we had to take a detour and go around another way. Just as I was making my last turn home there was a break in the clouds, the sun came out and there was a beautiful double rainbow in the sky.. One was very bright and vibrant and the one behind was more subdued. It was beautiful.. I don't think I have ever seen a double rainbow before. I kept looking to see where the rainbow ended, because it was so bright. I love the Lord's promise of a rainbow.. that the earth will never be flooded again as it was in the day of Noah.

It truly is a beautiful thing to see..
