My fun weekend.....

Just relaxing after my weekend at Creative Escape.. The scrapbooking event was held at the Hilton Point Resort in Phoenix. Loved having it so close to home. Just about 10 minutes door to door. We arrived Thursday morning at 10:30 to get our volunteer assignments and help set up for the days events of the "technique boutique". This event was to share techniques that the students would be learning in their classes and while learning the various techniques they were creating a really cute banner that said "Escape". I worked in the booth selling all the special Creative Escape merchandise.. shirts, mugs, water bottles etc. Wow were we swamped.. We opened the doors at 1:00 and closed at 6:00 and we didn't have a slow period for 5 hours.. i decided to stay at home since I was so close and so did Kristan and Karen. The other girls stayed at the Pointe. I was assigned to be a group leader to the group called the "Tulips"..this was a group of 75 gals and we would be rotating classes together. Each day the group participates in 4 classes and every participant takes the same classes. I must tell you that my group was awesome, very positive and friendly. They helped each other out and shared tools and supplies when someone was needing. It was fun to be with the same people for the entire 2 days of classes, we became close and I now have 75 new friends. the classes were all so creative and fun. and the entire event was fantastic. I am looking forward to next years event and meeting new friends and seeing old ones.
