I am finished with my yearly Dr. visits.. Had my skin check, my eye exam, my blood work, my yearly checkup,my bone scan & last but painfully not least my mammogram.. all is well. My Dr. changed my fish oil regimen since it wasn't doing the trick on my triglycerides to another medicine. so I will find out in 48 days how it is working. I have joined the gym and going to water aerobics classes and really liking them. Need to get some water shoes though, I have rubbed the skin off my toes from the bottom of the pool.
Kristan and I traveled up north to Cottonwood to the Alcantra Winery to get a large wine barrel that they are using for a prop in the play Oliver. The day was cool & overcast so the drive was nice. When we turned the corner on this tiny dirt road and the Winery came into view, I felt like I was in Italy. It was beautiful ! The architecture and the grounds were right out of the Italian landscape.
We then drove down to Prescott to visit a scrapbook store and stopped downtown to visit one of the cute shopping areas...Bashford Courts is across the street from this beautiful courthouse and the park area around it. They have some of the cutest stores and I just love to go there.
That evening I attended my first "Scout" meeting.. I am the new advancement chair on the Boy Scout Committee for our ward.. "Scary"... a lot to learn..
The next day I attended my grandson Kelly's cross country run in the District meet. He came in 4th overall and first for Pinnacle High School. He loves to run and is a natural.
That evening I held my monthly "All About Me" class here at the house and had a great time. The themes for the month were "Bookworm" highlighting the books we read..which type of books we like & the authors we like to read & "Girl Talk" highlighting the girls you like to spend time with and all those things you talk about.
Ended the week with Dr. appointments.
On Tuesday of this week I traveled to southern Arizona to Tucson with Kristan to call on two of her stores down there. Love the girls in both stores and have so much fun when we are down there.
On Thursday I went to see the movie "Amelia" with Connie and loved it. Great movie and even though you know what the ending is, I was wishing it would change..
The new Hobby Lobby store in my part of town opened this week and I must admit it is one of my favorite stores to shop in or just to go look around and get ideas, went 3 times this week and had a great time.. All week I have been working on the samples for my up-coming November classes..
Next weekend I am going to Seattle with Kristan to CKC and oh yes to see my grandaughter Marissa..YEAH.. so excited. Kristan was born in Seattle & I really haven't been back since we moved from there in 1970.. Loved it then and I am really looking forward to spending 3 days there. A few day after we get back from Seattle Judy is coming to Phoenix for her sista visit and I can't wait.. We have so much fun together.
So, you see my October was a busy month and as I look at my calender the next two months are just as busy.. crafts, concerts, plays, visits, classes and so much to look forward to.
