Christmas is Coming...

It's the second week of December already and I have been down with a wicked sore throat.. So after some hot peach herb tea and some meds. each morning, it is a lot better every day.. Just want to wake up without a sore throat.. But it didn't stop me this week!

On Weds. night I attended the Shadow Mountain High School "Sounds of the Season" Christmas concert. My granddaughter Karleigh performs in the Advanced Choir. It was a collection of holiday music from all religions all over the world. The program featured only "one" solo performance for the evening and it was Karleigh. She was accompanied by her friend on the guitar and she sang a new Taylor Swift Christmas song. She has an amazing voice & I just about burst with Grandmothers pride as I watched her performance. I wanted to jump up and say "Hey, everyone that is my granddaughter". This week's special pre-Christmas treat for my kids was the yummy, creamy hot chocolate from Williams Sonoma.. A warm treat for these cold evenings.
Thursday my friend Connie and I spent the day at Scottsdale Fashion Square shopping for those last few gifts I needed. We then visited the new shops in the Scottsdale Quarter. Williams Sonoma's, West Elm and Home store and the other fun shops there.

It was a full day filled with talk and laughter and holiday spirit.
Friday Connie and I went to see the movie Invictus. Wow what an amazing movie. I love true stories and this one was filled with the amazing story of not only Nelson Mandela's release from prison then winning the election and taking power in South Africa but also the South African Rugby team winning the world cup and the interaction between President Mandela and the captain of the the rugby team, and how this rugby team helped unite the nation.

I forgot to share some great events in my family that happened earlier this month: Taylor was awarded her varsity lstter in swim from Pinnacle High school & Kelly was awarded the coaches award at the track banquet for Pinnacle High School.. Way to go kids..
I have a big project to work on this week and it will keep me busy, in-between I have a cookie exchange to bake for and an evening of service to gather things for.. Should be a great week..
