A Shower for Morgan

Saturday I attended a wedding shower for my grandaughter Morgan. It was hosted by her Aunt's Karen and Jamie. It was held at Karen's home and was such a fun party. About 30 gals attended and we had a great time. Morgan was so appreciative of everything she received and so excited to open each gift and replied "wow I really need this". I was trying to decide what special thing I could give her that would mean something to her for years to come. Then I decided to give her a special cookie jar that I received at my wedding shower 45 years ago. As I looked at the cookie jar in my kitchen I always remembered fondly the special friend who had given it to me and it brought back great memories of the shower that I received it. It sat in my kitchen for years and my kids and grandkids all enjoyed the cookies it held. I wrote a letter explaining all of this & why I was giving it to her, and put the letter on top of the gift. As she read the letter, her eyes got wide with anticipation of what the special gift was. She was very excited and said how much she loved it and special it was to her and how she remembered that when she stayed at my house she would always sneak out and get a few cookies out of that cookie jar. I know that it will have a special place in her kitchen and she will treasure it as I did. I took a picture of Morgan and the cookie jar and it got erased by mistake ..
